The Nuits Lyriques takes part in the First Online Festival
of the Orchestras Operas of France
From December 4 to 16 inclusive, the 46 member orchestras and operas of Forces musicales offered more than 35 events, live or freshly recorded, to give us a taste of the emotions that music can bring. A first, free of charge and accessible to all, which we were able to follow on the Forces musicales website and on the Facebook accounts of the 46 members, including Les Nuits Lyriques.
L’amour de loin, Forces Musicales’ first digital festival!
From December 4 to 16 inclusive, the 46 member orchestras and opera houses of Forces Musicales will be taking part in this major premiere, a free event open to all.
For the past eight months, opera houses, orchestras and festivals have been striving to nurture the precious bond that unites them with the public, and now they’ve decided to join forces and showcase the richness of French music. Operas, ballets, concerts, workshops, debates: more than 35 live or freshly-captured events enabled everyone to rediscover the taste for the emotions that music can provide.
“In just 4 weeks, the strength of the collective carried us through to compose this sum of local initiatives and turn it into a national event that surpassed us,” enthuses Loïc Lachenal, then President of Forces musicales and General Director of the Rouen-Normandie opera.
Love from afar, but all together. The concept of this festival was first and foremost to promote the many artistic activities offered by all, but also and above all, to bring them to life together. In practice, each structure broadcast its event from its Facebook page, and the whole network cross-posted it (sharing the broadcast stream), in order to share it with as many people as possible, and thus get audiences to travel all over France.
To ensure maximum accessibility, prime-time shows were also broadcast online on the Forces Musicales website (www.lesforcesmusicales.org).
The festival drew to a close at a time when a gradual resumption of live audience attendance was once again possible. As it has demonstrated since the beginning of the crisis, Les Forces Musicales has drawn on its values of solidarity and sharing, always with a focus on high standards and artistic content.
“Faced with the difficulties we’ve encountered, it’s in the collective that we draw our enthusiasm, energy and inventiveness. Each structure contributes a precious stone to the common edifice, a logic of mutual aid born in the crisis and which we will maintain in the months and years to come”, concludes Aline Sam-Giao, General Manager of the Auditorium Orchestre National de Lyon and then Vice-President of the syndicate.
